Hi… I’m Derek, and I live in South Wales about 20miles from Cardiff, in the Vale of Glamorgan.
I am a 77-year-old retired psychotherapist, and have done that work since 1976. Before that, I worked as a musician from around 1966, before the shift away from live music to disco and then karaoke making it more difficult find constant professional work to support a family. It seems now as if life had other plans for me.
If I was to make a statement about myself, it would be that my life is about Zen or to be more specific, life IS Zen. Whilst it is true that Zen can be the Way of religion, for instance Zen Buddhism, Zen can be applied to anything in life and it is all about transcending difficulties and problems wherever they are encountered. What is happening in the world right now is a big and hard to believe. I am looking for how I can contribute in my own way.
