I admire your initiative, you could build up a list of supportive councillors and encourage them to join organisations like The New Culture Forum or Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC).
Also producing reports or briefing papers that you could hand out to councillors.
It’s important to remember that councillor are just ordinary people, being a councillor is voluntary, they are not paid like MPs.
There are levels of government and councillors just comply with what comes from above.
Town/Parish councils are also at the lowest level so they have no power even if they are sympathetic.
County and district councils are the ones that you should target to get your message across.
I’m not sure if you’ve had direct experience dealing with councils over the past 10-15 years, particularly in the last five. The level of ignorance and gatekeeping often starts at the parish council level. While it’s true that many parish councillors aren’t officially paid, some do receive allowances depending on their position. At district and county levels, the financial stakes are much higher, with some councillors receiving triple payments for overlapping roles or projects.
Additionally, many parish councillors simultaneously hold positions on district or county councils, creating a complex web of influence.
Suggesting councillors might “wake up” overlooks the reality that most are fully aware of what they’re doing. Decent councillors who question decisions or challenge the status quo are often quickly marginalized or removed under one pretext or another.
For context, we have nine Heritage Party councillors across the UK. Beyond that, we closely engage with council matters, local societies, and communities directly affected by council decisions. I’d encourage you to look into resources and summaries on how councils truly operate it’s an eye-opener for many.

Forced rewilding and skyrocketing costs will drive farmers off their land, collapsing food production and rural economies.
Energy Costs:
The forced end of fossil fuels will push energy prices through the roof, leaving families in the cold and businesses shutting down.
Travel and Freedom:
Affordable holidays and everyday travel will become luxuries, while restrictions and taxes make personal mobility impossible for many.
Property Rights:
Homeowners and farmers will lose control of their land and homes under vague “conservation” and “sustainability” goals.
Economic Suicide: While the UK tears itself apart with these policies, countries like China and India will dominate, leaving us weak and dependent.
This Bill is not about protecting the environment—it is about imposing control, crippling our economy, and punishing ordinary people while achieving nothing for the planet.
